Hans Sandgren Jakobsen
”A strong design consists of function, aesthetics and innovation. It must be refracted, beautiful and innovation means using the material in a new way.”
Designer Hans Sandgren Jakobsen about his design process and design philosophy.
Hans Sandgren Jakobsen was originally edducated as a cabinetmaker (1986) and a designer from the Danish School of Design (1990). With a preference for the Scandinavian design tradition and a starting point in a bright and light design universe, Hans Sandgren Jakobsen explores the potential of the materials and challenges the technology behind the production. Among other things, this has resulted in the creation of the AK1020 Turning Boxes, which has gained great international attention for its sculptural and innovative expression, and has now been put into production by the Naver Collection.
